Daydream of Dinner for Two

I was daydreaming the other day..............................................................................
Of a vintage inspired outside table set for two...................................................................

(gasp) something like this...........................

Oh wait a minute, it's no daydream, there is a table fixed for two!

I had fun with this table. It's quick and simple.  Here's some of my retro collection mixed with some
new retro inspired accessories I used.

These  placemats were found at Wal-Mart last week for .99!!! They look so 50's
The acrylic plates are from there too for $1

This huge 1950's BBQ platter was found at a local Antique Store
This is a 1940-50 baked bean pot. They came in a set of four in an aluminum handled carrier
It's marked Harker. I've had them since before I was married.
This retro 50's 'Eat at Jim's' condiment set is new from Home Depot. It's perfect for when Jim's family comes over.

These corn holders..feel retro to me, are also from Home goods.

This Frosty rootbeer bottle and Mountain Dew bottle are straight from the 60's. \\
Well, the hamburgers are done...the sun is setting...guess I'll donn my vintage apron, add some candlelight and torches, and sit with Jim to see how his day went.

If you want to see something closer just click the picture ;D

Later I'll be off visiting Susan at Between Naps on the Porch For Tablescape Thursday. If you want to go just click Here

Hi Melody, I hope it is cool when you sit outside to eat. It has been so terribly hot here the last few days. It cool down a little, but I wish it would cool down some more. We had our first traffic jamb due to the Chief's training camp. I know where not to go if they are having an evening practice. I am playing catch up with all of my friends tonight. I like your new look. Take care. Your Missouri Friend.

I LOVE that BBQ platter. I have seen it before in shops, but it's always pretty banged up and not worth what they are asking for it. It was featured in that book Patio-Daddy-O and I have wanted one ever since I saw it in there.
Lucky you!

The cruets are so great with your hubby's name and the vintage soda bottles are awesome. Love the vintage BBQ tray too. We had one when I was growing up.

Nice to see you today. Thank you for stopping by. I missed all my friends while on vacation.
Have a great night.

Melody, I love the 50's setting...so cute, casual and fun. Wish I'd seen some of the placemats. Those are adorable and for that price you can't go wrong!
I posted a reply on my blog about your runner you're working on. I cannot wait to see what you're up to with the fabrics you said reminded you of transferware. I'll be watching!
